Toronto voice actor 'had big cowl to fill'

Toronto-born voice actor Rino Romano has played the Dark Knight in the Cartoon Network's Emmy award-winning animated series The Batman since 2004. He is the only Canadian to play the Caped Crusader, and it will probably be the only time he gets listed alongside Christian Bale, George Clooney, Val Kilmer and Michael Keaton. (read more)

Hi Doreen! Yes, that is me on that one McDonalds spot that plays incessantly. And yes, that's me on those South Park promos [on K-Cal 9 in L.A.] and on CBS, etc. You have a great ear! For the last long while, I've been doing a lot more of the commercial and promotional stuff, and a lot less of the animation mostly, if not exclusively, due to the time commitment needed for cartoons (i.e., 4 hour sessions). However, this year, I've been fortunate enough to fall into a few great things. Firstly I've replaced William H. Macy as the Narrator on Curious George (the animated series). I'm in Seasons 2 and 3, so far. Also, (this one's a bit of a secret still and not really for public consumption yet), I'm working with a bunch of really cool vo people and celebrities on a new animated series, that's been a great boatload of fun!

Rino Romano is The Batman in the cool animated adventure series which chronicles the crime-fighter's early years in Gotham. Fans can preview The Batman's latest techno-gadget weaponry, like the Batarang, Bat-grappel and an updated high performance Batmobile, plus get show information, email a friend and sign up for The Batman newsletter on Warner Bros. Batman site or check out CN's Batman site. There's also DC Comics site with tons of info about Batman comics and graphic novels. Check your local TV listings for The Batman! I promise you'll be glad you did!

Rino as Spidey from the PC version of the Activision game:

"Gotta Get To That Bank!"
"I Have To Stop Wasting Time!"
"What's Going On?" + dialogue
"Those Hostages Need My Help!"

Spiderman Unlimited briefly returned to Fox Kids on Dec. 2, 2000. This was a terrific show that should have gotten more fanfare! Not only did Rino provide the voices of Peter Parker and Spiderman, he also voiced a new character, the Goblin.   "He's not the Green Goblin and he's not the Hobgoblin. Remember, this whole thing takes place on a different Earth,"   Rino told The Comics Continuum.   "He's somewhere in between good and bad -- a brooding good guy."

Bye-bye, WB

Rino was THE voice of The WB (here's a commercial he did for Nikki, which aired on Saturday, 10/15/2000) and can now be heard in commerical "bumpers," promos and/or as an announcer for The CW, KCAL-9, CBS and other networks. My fave are for the reruns of South Park on KCal-9. Rino can also be heard as the narrator of the series Backstory which used to air on AMC.
